GB Fish and Chips

My first trip to GB was the day of my 25th birthday. It seemed it would be the appropriate food to fuel the upcoming night of debauchery. I ordered a full of cod w/ chips, beans, a shepards pie, bbq crisps, and 2 Guinness. Holy arfing short was it a lot of food. When you're eating food like this you really only have two options... get a small amount to delete a craving or get a ton. Once you get a piece down it is as if your stomach begins trying aggressively to pair it with the rest of the fish in your basket. Plan ahead for this.

Now GB is my retreat from home when I'm having a lazy weekend afternoon. Sometimes I hit happy hour (I think its rrreaallly long on the weekends) and score $3.75 krons and the occasional cider. The pints, fish, and football could only get better if they had somewhere I could doze off for a few. a quick note... they have a playstaion hooked up to one of the TVs... I think next time I should figure out what its for... cause I mean... come on... how sweet would that be.

Re: the article on GB Fish & Chips - A proper Cornish pasty is neither decent nor dull. And it most certainly does NOT contain ground beef, seasoned or otherwise. A proper Cornish pasty contains chunks of potato, swede, onion, parsley and steak. The only seasoning is salt and pepper, so the full flavor of the meat and vegetables can be appreciated. The filling is wrapped in a flaky crust, sturdy enough to be eaten out of hand as the tin miners did, the folded edges tossed away after serving as handles, because the miners would have arsenic on their hands from their work. A proper Cornish pasty is a succulent, deeply satisfying thing of beauty. I am sorry you haven't yet had the pleasure.
